This one came on a long car ride from Colorado to Texas during a hard part of my life in 1993. I was lost and just as the sun began to set and the stars came out, one of them just seem to call out to me and these words came almost instantaneously. Later I added the music to it.

THERE'S A NEW STAR ON THE HORIZON

Chorus:
There's a new star on the horizon
A new star beckoning me
There's a new star on the horizon
And it's calling out to me

Verse 1:
Little star up in the sky
What mysteries beneath you lie?
Tell your story proud and true
And I will follow you ... (chorus)

Verse 2:
With my life ahead of me
There's so much left to do
So little star be a guide for me

Verse 3:
I'm on the road to a better place
Where the streets are paved with gold
For I followed the light of a little start
And did as I was told ... <chorus>

Verse 4:
I've reached my castle in the sky
And my rewards are great
For the little start has led me
To the heavenly gates ... <chorus>

I co-wrote this with a friend (Kim Warnock) from high school back in 1980 or so and then put it to music. We were very active in our church youth group at the time and this summed up a lot of how we felt at that time.

SO YOU SEEK

To grasp and hold my hand

Knock and the door shall be opened unto you
These words are in the Bible
